THE SCHOOL

AU NEPAL

In Nepal, school is compulsory from ages 6 to 11.

The primary school contains 5 levels. Classes do not work by age butby level because some students sometimes take 10 years to obtain level 5.

Children generally go to school from 9:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.

There is no canteen. The children have lunchtime recess.

The start of the school year takes place in April.

They then have holidays at the time of festivals like in October-November with the Dashain festival, the most famous festival in Nepal.

The students wearuniformsbut not all students have the chance to wear one because it represents a cost for families.

In public schools, the uniform consists of navy blue pants, skirt and sweater, as well as a sky blue shirt.
